Mass Maharaja Raviteja Touch Chesi Chudu Review and Rating {2.5/5}

Story Plot:

The film revolves around a police officer called Karthikeya (Ravi Teja), who struggles to maintain a balance between his personal and professional life. Until one incident changes his life forever.

Mass Maharaja Raviteja Touch Chesi Chudu Review and Rating, If you’re a Ravi Teja fan, or have seen enough of his movies, then you know pretty much know what to expect. Good humour, punch dialogues (delivered in his inimitable style) and action-packed storyline had earned him the title ‘Mass Maharaja’, and brought him some of his biggest hits. In Vikram Sirikonda’s ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’, Ravi Teja is meaner and leaner than he ever was, but the script lacks any of the attributes that made him a successful star in the first place. With a shoddy screenplay and an unimaginative storyline, ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ is a cumbersome watch.

The film chronicles the life of Karthikeya (Ravi Teja), who believes that family is everything. At every step of the way, he puts his family first and shows that he can go to any extent to please his family. He even agrees to get married and meets Pushpa (Raashi Khanna). Known to speak his mind, it’s not long before he offends her and she rejects his marriage proposal. As it happens so often in Telugu films, she soon starts falling for him. However, the seemingly happy story comes to a sudden, jarring halt when Karthikeya’s sister witnesses a murder, one that changes all their lives completely and brings back dark memories.

Right from the start, the film goes on largely predictable lines. No attempts are made to flesh out the characters. The attempt at humour is tedious, the songs are jarring and the action sequences lack sting. There’s little element of surprise for the viewers, and save for a few funny scenes, ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ is a drag.

Ravi Teja, on his part, does his part in his inimitable style and puts in an earnest performance. His dialogue-delivery, as ever, is spot on and he’s especially effective as the defiant cop who breaks all rules. “Pending cases ki nenu ending istha,” he thunders, as he takes charge as ACP.

But even if you’re a die-hard fan of the Mass Maharaja, you wouldn’t help but feel short-changed after watching the film. Ravi Teja’s dialogue-delivery is still intact, he can still beat up goons, he can still dance in foreign locales but if you’re expecting a good story to be told, I’m afraid you won’t find it here.

Both Raashi Khanna and Seerat Kapoor have roles that are completely inconsequential to the plot of the film. Raashi, for instance, is given a fair amount of screen space in the first half and a love story is established — only to go completely off the boil in the second half, where Raashi is non-existent. Seerat, on the other hand, appears in bits-and-pieces in flashback portions of the film. The way each character is written and handled leaves a lot to be desired. The writing is lazy and uninspired, and the filmmaker seems to have decided to bank on Ravi Teja landing a few punches, and delivering a few dialogues (at one point, he says “Tu Sher hai toh main global warming”) to bring him success.

Seasoned actors like Murali Sharma, Satyam Rajesh and Vennela Kishore lift this film with their comic timing and provide much-needed respite from a plot line that’s going nowhere. ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ is a love story for one moment, an action-drama the next and a revenge story after that. Unfortunately, the filmmaker does justice to neither of these genres and ends up with a cocktail of half-hearted performances. “Mass Maharaja Raviteja Touch Chesi Chudu Review and Rating”

Thumbs Up:
Ravi Teja as ACP Karthikeya
Songs by J.A.M8
Background score by Mani Sharma

Thumbs Down:
Routine story
Template screenplay

Touch Chesi Chudu is the regular mass masala movie that has a routine storyline. The film lacks the freshness, but the director tried to present the film by giving new characterizations to the actors.

Though the storyline is regular, the film has some high and robust voltage mass action episodes. Ravi Teja’s excellent energy levels and comic timing is sure to impress the audiences.
